The last 3 seasons have been some of the most horrendous offensive outputs in years. 1995 or 1996 before Barnette started for us? In '95 I remember Harvey and Stephens scoring points, we just couldn't stop anyone from rushing for 400 yards against us. 1996 was tough with Laureano but then we found Barnette and tested Alabama and the rest of the year showed promise(other than the game in charlotte against scott harley). Even then it was a defensive problem. I guess maybe the mid 80's with Reed. Curious as to what others think about this. Gives you a taste of greatness-just enough exciting games and big rumbles to make all those fumbles, pulled hammies and hurt wrists all that more frustrating. Got to where nobody was sorry to see him go after his junior year, though you wished the best, it was time to move on. The backs we have now have been quite refreshing in comparison. Now if we could just get the line to open up a few holes. Andre only needs a few a game to make a difference. Ain’t that the truth-electrifying and frustrating. He was probably the most electrifying and frustrating rb to watch that has come through state since I have been following the team since around the mid 80's . You remember him from the Va game Philip's senior year and you also remember the Maryland game and the fumble. It kinda sums up being a State fan in general I guess. Highs and lows. Hopefully he can get his life straightened out. It is just really sad that someone with so much potential has thrown it away.
