Just thought I’d stir the pot a little today. The title of this thread on a ECU message board is “ncsu fans are PATHETIC!!!! “. Here’s what user ‘Topcard91′ has to say:
Every team goes through down periods. We have certainly had our fair share.
I seem to remember a VERY weak ECU team playing ncsu in Charlotte and taking about 15,000 folks 5 hours away. I remember ncsu fans insulting our fans for taking ONLY 15,000 people 5 hours away.
So ncsu is down right now. But instead of supporting their team….what do they do?
The typical! Boo, cuss, cut everyone down.
So guess what I get in the mail yesterday. 2 EXTRA tickets for the ECU/ncsu game.
Their pitiful, lame fanbase……who begged for us to give them 5,000 tickets….DID NOT SELL THEM ALL!!!!!!
Thats right! Big time ACC/BCS football powerhouse (in their minds) Will not travel 1.5 hours down the road to support their team.
Tom O’Brien has to feel like he made the biggest mistake in his life!!

They need to realize that most State fans were not happy at all about playing Redneck University in Greenville. This was only because of Fowler’s commitment to suck up to Holland, not the NCSU fanbase. As far as I know the only reason to attend ECU is for football. They have ABSOLUTELY NO academic integrity. My dog is smarter than every person I have ever met who went there. And since football is the only reason to go there, it must be really bad to totally suck. Yeah they may beat us every once in a while during our worst years, but at least we have a decent school to be proud of. The ACC expanded and do you remember one school that is right in the middle of ACC country but didn’t even get a single realistic chance of ever joining? That’s right, it was good ol’ ECU…what a bunch of redneck losers.

Well I sure do find the above comment regarding traveling to ECU to stand next to the state’s drunkest fans for 3 hours interesting.
As a person that has attended football games at NCSU and also at UNC and ECU it is somewhat a question. I believe your school actually sells booze at the field. ECU does NOT.
Also I believe it says something for ECU that even when they had a bad team they traveled 5 hours to see their team play.
Lets give credit where credit is due. You dont have the sprit ECU does.

Yes, we should take a lot of fans and if we pull the upset, we can pull down their goal posts.
Then in a few years, maybe there will be a storm that will cause us to play a home game there due to their gracious generosity. Maybe in that game we will upset someone and pull down their goal posts again.
